Apply for a Grant

The Cortland Community Foundation awards grants as investments in our community. All eligible nonprofit organizations located in Cortland County, large or small, established or newly created, are encouraged to share their projects with us. Unless there is an emergency, grant applications are considered on a quarterly basis. Grants of varying sizes are then awarded based upon community need and organizational capacity to impact those needs.

As a general rule, the Foundation funds capital project activities as well as equipment, materials, and supplies. Start-up charitable initiatives that incur one-time costs may also be considered. Grant Application Deadlines

The Cortland Community Foundation’s Board of Directors meets quarterly after the quarter has concluded. For grant consideration your application needs to be received by the following dates:

  • 1st Quarter Meeting – April 10
  • 2nd Quarter Meeting – July 10
  • 3rd Quarter Meeting – October10
  • 4th Quarter Meeting – January 10
